If you hurt someone, the best way to acknowledge the hurt is to apologize. A simple-I’m sorry with nothing after it. There are so many people walking around with wounds that haven’t been addressed and they, in turn, hurt others. Now it’s easy to say well they should move on. They should do the work and forgive anyway. BUT if you are a believer of the highest God-know this: Jesus Loved Hard! And if Jesus loved hard while he was here on Earth so does God. He said it himself. “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself [of His own accord], unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever things the Father does, the Son [in His turn] also does in the same way.
JOHN 5:19 AMP
Now when I talk about love I’m not referring to lovey-dovey emotional romantic love. I’m referring to agape love-doing things for the benefit of another person. Having an unselfish concern for another and a willingness to seek the best for another. This was so easy to type but is a struggle in my day-to-day, to execute so I needed a little reinforcement. As I began to read about Jesus and his attributes this is what was revealed to me.
Before Jesus died he had an intimate moment with his disciples.
So intimate that John was laying on his chest as they shared their last moments together. I don’t know about you but not too many people lay on my chest and get consoled as I softly talk to them. My children, my husband, and an elderly relative are who I think of when thinking of this moment. These are people who I love dearly so this tells me that Jesus loved hard! John 13:21-30
The fact that he wept once he heard the news of the death of his friend Lazarus. This moment of mourning is a display of love. Jesus loved hard! John 11: 32-36
The moment Jesus went and prayed to God to take this cup of agony was real because he didn’t want to leave who he loved behind but he knew something better was coming which was the ultimate display of love from our Father-the gift of the Holy Spirit. Luke 22:41-44
As you go throughout your day and you interact with people, are you loving as hard as Jesus did? Let us remember the ultimate commandment love one another as I have loved you. John 13:34-35
God thank you for opening my eyes so I can see others the way you see them. Thank you for the courage to open my mouth and activate someone’s healing today with acknowledgment of their hurt. I love you, Heavenly Father.
